Every congregation has members who are challenged with health issues, loss of loved ones, long-term caregiving, and aging.  At The Grove, we choose to walk the journey with our friends by listening and caring.

how may we pray for you?

Prayer is an important part of our spiritual journey. Would you like us to pray for you or someone you know? Your confidential online prayer request is submitted to our Director of Caring Ministries and will only be shared in the manner that you select.

“Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks.” Philippians 4:6 (CEB)

visitation team

visits made by Congregational Care Ministers

Congregational Care Ministers (CCMs) are lay volunteers who are trained to listen and provide emotional and spiritual support to others. CCMs work alongside our pastors in providing care. If you or someone you care about could benefit from a visit or other contact from a CCM, please contact Carolyn Winslow.

helping hands team

filling short-term immediate needs

Through a carefully organized program, our hands can extend the love of God by offering short-term help to our church family members in need of transportation (to church or medical appointments), meals (following surgery or during an immediate crisis), grocery shopping or assistance in other tangible ways. Find a link at the page bottom for the Volunteer Opportunities Brochure.

prayer connection team

praying for needs in our church and community

The Prayer Connection Team exists to present the praises and petitions of our church and community before the Lord. Confidential prayer requests may be requested to be shared with the pastors, the staff, the Prayer Connection Team and/or the congregation (as part of the Sunday bulletin) by making that choice at the time the prayer request is submitted.

health team

assisting with health-related issues

This team is comprised of members who have been or still are employed in the health care field for the purpose of providing answers to questions from staff and ministry volunteers so that they can better communicate care to members experiencing health issues. The Director of Caring Ministries will direct health-related questions to the appropriate health team member for follow-up.

support groups

Grief Support Group - Loss of a loved one or caregiving while experiencing loss presents challenges too heavy to cope with alone. God promises we will not be left alone during times of suffering. This group provides support and understanding.

Drum Circle - For individuals and families living with Autism/Asperger’s, and for anyone with disabilities or social challenges who like music, rhythm, and dance.

Grandmothers with Challenges - A support group for women challenged with unique responsibilities in the role of grandmother.

Friday Brunch - A ministry for people in our congregation who have memory loss. Participants gather at The Grove for two hours to enjoy food, fellowship, music and socializing with our preschoolers.
