Wednesday Night Student Ministry


Sept-May, 6:30-8pm

Middle and high school students and their friends

 

Middle and High School Students engage in community-building, fun, and faith formation through games and activities, small groups, and occasional service. Optional pizza served at 6 pm. Friends and new teens are always welcome!

 

Confirmation


Confirmation is a journey where students consider saying yes to vows made by parents at baptism.

 Students can be confirmed in the fall of their 10th grade year (or anytime after). Those wishing to be confirmed participate in Wednesday evening student ministry. In addition, 6th through 9th graders desiring to be confirmed are encouraged to participate in the following events as part of confirmation preparation:

-Onsite Service Camp in grades 7th, 8th, or 9th.

-Offsite Mission Trip between 9th and 10th grades.

-Confirmation Retreat in 8th or 9th grades.

-Service to the church community through various opportunities.

 

Parent-Student Nights


Three times per year, parents are invited to attend Student Ministry so that they can learn about the program, connect with each other, and learn about current social issues that may affect their family.

 

Examples of topics include:

-Importance of spiritual formation

-Social media

-Family emotional health

-Topics suggested by parents

Onsite Service Camp: STORM Camp

4-Night Camp held at The Grove, Summer

For students who completed grades 7-9.

Students volunteer in community service projects during the day and experience camp and worship in the evenings.

Leadership Training

Students have opportunities for growth and leadership through roles in the church.

 -Volunteer worship leadership, leadership to kids' ministry, and hospitality.

-Paid job training and internships (Childcare, Technology, Program Assistants, and Grounds/Gardening)

 

Mission Trip Opportunities

Week-Long Service Trips, Summer

For students who completed grade 9 and up; Adults of all ages

Rotating between Mountain T.O.P. (Tennessee Outreach Project) in Tennessee and Regional Service Trips (Milwaukee, Pine Ridge, Detroit), students are immersed in different cultures for learning and deepen their faith through serving others.
